This Christmas, The Mustard Seed aims to give the gift of dignity through the Family Gift Centre holiday gift shopping event. At this year’s 6th annual Family Gift Centre, community members living in poverty or who are experiencing homelessness are invited to shop for toys for the young ones in their lives for only a toonie, affording them the dignity that comes with purchasing a gift for their loved one. The Mustard Seed’s mission with the event, which runs December 7th and 8th , is to create an experience that restores dignity and empowers caregivers to purchase a gift for the kids in their lives.
The Mustard Seed is calling on Edmontonians to donate unwrapped toys and gifts to the Family Gift Centre, to make the event a reality. Gifts for kids aged zero to 18 years old are welcome, with examples including stuffed animals for toddlers, dolls and crafts for kids aged four to seven, Lego sets and computer games for kids aged eight to 12, and makeup and sportswear for teenagers aged 13+. Toy and gift donations accepted until December 5 th at The Mustard Seed Community Support Centre at 10568 114 St. NW, Edmonton from Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please bring donations to the back of the building.
