Taber corn stands now open in Southern Alberta

“This is our early varieties so the cobs are naturally a little smaller, they grow a little faster. I wouldn’t tell people that this is the best stuff to freeze or can.”

The world’s most famous corn on the cob is now available for purchase in a few spots around Southern Alberta.

James Johnson, Owner and Operator at Johnson Fresh Farms, says five stands are in operation as of Monday, July 26.

“We’re doing a few just around Southern Alberta – kind of the same locations and we’ll open more around Southern Alberta, tomorrow is our plan. As long as everything is still running fine, then we’ll kind of start shipping to Calgary and Edmonton so they can have stuff for the long weekend.”

While Johnson Fresh Farms is one of the major players in the Taber corn business, they are far from the only one.
