Summary: Recovering Spirit is an online circle dialogue about the Indigenous experience in academia and recovery from inter-generational trauma. Furthermore, it is a space to share Nehiyaw (Cree) teachings and insights, as reconnection with cultural roots is important. Being Indigenous offers many diverse sets of knowledges and beliefs that have guided the people since the beginning of time and will continue to be a source of strength and resiliency in our journeys.

Bio: Ferrada (Jacob) Lightning, is a Iethka and Nehiyaw youth, and is a Community Climate Justice Coordinator with Videa. His home communities are Maskwacis and Mni Thni (Morley) and they are situated in the Treaty 6 and 7 territories in Alberta. Ferrada is also a helper to his Mosom Rick Lightning and Ferrada is passionate about learning and preserving his ancestral knowledges, amplifying Indigenous voices, and spreading Climate Justice Awareness.
